I loooove coming here. It's perfect for all ages and generally very quiet. It's also super clean and organized. The computers are hardly ever unavailable and it isn't too crowded. It may not be huge, but it's very nice and has a lot to offer.

Local Author's Expo
Celebrate the vibrant writer community in Prince George's County by meeting our talented local authors. Books penned by these individuals span various genres and showcase the diverse voices within our county. These creators not only inspire readers but also contribute to the burgeoning literary scene.
Geek Out Expo
Let your geek out at the library’s first-ever Geek Out Expo! There will be video games, tabletop games, Cosplay, crafting, a Super Smash Bros tournament, and more! Dress in your best cosplay, bring a friend, and have fun! There will be game demos from Looney Labs, Game Kastle, and 3 Gears Games. All ages are welcome.
Summer Prince Georges
Summer is the perfect time for customers of all ages to explore books, films, magazines, events and more that ignite their interests, hobbies and educational pursuits. We are pleased to once again work with our friends at the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System to encourage summer reading among Prince Georgians.

Author Visit: Patti Kim on "I'm OK" and "It's Girls Like You, Mickey"
Author Patti Kim talks about what it was like growing up in America as an immigrant from Pusan, South Korea and how her childhood shaped her middle grade novels, "I'm OK" and "It's Girls Like You, Mickey". Critics have called her characters gritty, inimitable, and bursting with personality, and her book an "important novel." Meet Patti and hear her talk about her stories. Ages 10+
Carole Hopson "A Pair of Wings"
Pilot, author, and speaker Carole Hopson visits Prince George's County to discuss her book, "A Pair of Wings: Based on the Life of Pioneer Aviatrix Bessie Coleman," and the 100 Pairs of Wings Project, which encourages Black women to become aviators. Co-presented with the Prince George's County Office of Human Rights. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
Leonard Pitts Jr. on The Library’s Role in a Misinformation Age
Bowie resident, author, and syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. will be speaking at our South Bowie Branch 10th Birthday Celebration on Tuesday, October 25 at 6pm. The topic is “Think Again: The Library’s Role in a Misinformation Age”.

Tell Congress to Invest in Libraries!
The federal appropriations process began with the President’s FY24 proposed budget, before moving on to the House and Senate. Library champions in both chambers are leading our budget request letters and working hard to make the case for increased library funding through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Innovative Approaches to Literacy program (IAL):
- In the House, Reps. Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) and Don Bacon (R-NE) are leading the LSTA letter, and Reps. Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Bacon are leading the IAL letter.
- In the Senate, Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) is leading both letters!
We are requesting funding of at least $232 for LSTA and $50 million for IAL. Learn more about the campaign – and find tools to share this action – at ALA’s #FundLibraries homepage!
